The Swiss government effectively axed two of the world’s biggest trade shows on Friday when it banned gatherings of more than 1,000 people to curb the spread of the highly contagious coronavirus. The cancellation of the Geneva Motor Show and Baselworld is a major loss for two industries that have already been hit hard by the epidemic.
