The Blockchain Lead at UNICEF, Christina Lomazzo, leads conversations about a digitally financed future in the UNICEF Crypto Fund to determine how to deliver programs to young mothers and children around the world. She says that accessibility and connectivity are the biggest challenges.
In order to use crypto or digital currency, connectivity is necessary yet half of humanity doesn’t have access to the internet. There needs to be a way to access platforms for the transaction of digital currencies. Having already received donations from the Ethereum Foundation, she shares the team is doing more outreach to those who can donate financially or technologically, with the goal to use crypto to pay for connectivity for certain regions that lack them.
